i had a few for i started going into business right after college & have been involved in at least one business for over 14 years. so there are too many to mention.
the capital depends on the type of business & on the type of thing that i contributed, because for one you can just be a business partner putting up no money just your time, your skill, your machinery, your network, your credit line, your name, or whatever else you have to offer besides money.
the thing that you need to find, is a need & then fill it. & of course it will help if you really know & enjoy that line of business.

I teach English as a Second Language.
I tutor a lot of students. I wouldn't call it a "business" but it is additional pay to supplement my school income.
I started tutoring private students 6 months ago on my own. My start up capital was very minimal. A few books which I already owned. Extra paper. And gas to wherever I meet the student.

My aquarium biz didnt need much capital. Maybe about $2500 to start and some old contacts plus a little company spying and I was up and running. Sounds kinda fishy, right? (-;

I'm a musician...
And my business is...
Love, baby...
Love...
And I started it all when I was just a wee boy of 18 years old...
Starting capital was $49 dollars and 52 cents, a job awaiting me waiting tables in the near future...and...some dried out old beef jerky in my pocket...with lint on it...
And lo and behold...(I now live in a van down by the river...movin' on up in the world...yessiree...
Get a Ph'd, kids...(less love...but what's love gotsta' do wit' it?)
