Jerry received a parrot for his birthday. The parrot was fully-grown with a bad attitude and worse vocabulary. Every other word was an expletive. Those that werent expletives were, to say the least very rude. Jerry tried hard to change the birds attitude and was constantly saying polite words, playing soft music, anything he could think of to try and set a good example. Nothing worked. He yelled at the bird and the bird yelled back. He shook the bird and the bird just got angrier and became even more rude. Finally in a moment of desperation. Jerry put the parrot in the FREEZER. For a few moments he heard the bird squawk and kick and scream. Then suddenly, there was a ---- -Not a sound for half a minute. Jerry was frightened that he might have hurt the bird and quickly opened the freezer door. The Parrot calmly stepped out onto Jerrys extended arm and said: "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I will endeavor at once to correct my behavior. I really am

truly sorry and beg your forgiveness." Jerry was astonished at the birds change in attitude and was about to ask what had made the difference and caused such a dramatic change when the parrot continued: "May I ask what the chicken did???"

Hahahahahaha, yes, that's very funny.
I should read that to my parrot.
My good friend Pete recently passed away and willed me his parrot, his name is Bogie, after Humphrey Bogart. We are working on taming him down. We've only had Bogie now for about three days. He isn't real trusting of people yet.
I've tamed worst though:~)

P.S., I think you look dashing, from one sailor to another :~)

Edit: Bogie didn't find that amusing at all..........hahahahaha
Can you say chicken!!!!

Where we live, next door but one, they have a parrot in an aviary in their garden.....it's a beautiful bird to look at but oh my! it squawks and squawks all day and night! We wondered why someone would have such an expensive, beautiful bird outside in all weathers like that......and now the whole neighbourhood knows! Want a lie-in during the summer or at weekends....no chance! It mimics everything and everybody and calls out our dog's name and whistles like Tc does when he whistles our dog! It "shouts " like our next door neighbour and it swears like a trooper! Don't think we could get it in our freezer lol, tempting, very tempting but couldn't do it anyway!

Very cute! I had a Great Aunt that had a parrot. She had him when I was just a little girl. She used to tell me to give "Sam"
a cracker if he asked for it and almost every time I did he would bite me. ( I was a slow learner. lol) When Aunt Rose passed away I was married with 4 kids, she was 103 and Sam was still living and Grandma told me he was nearly 80.

Fisherman, that's a cracker and it reminded me of when I looked after my daughters african grey for 18 months while they were in Northern Ireland. We had this love hate relationship whereby, one minute he'd be on my shoulder, nibbling and kissing me but, when I came to feed him in the cage, my only defence was rubber gloves and the cardboard inside of a kitchen roll with which to beat him back!

Funny! Yes, My biod dad always had a parrot and mynah bird. He did accidentally buy a cussing parrot named Corky. We kept him a while and then gave him to my Dad's boss who was a championship cusser. She loved Corky.

Some friends of my parents had a parrot. It used to say,
"good-bye" whenever the phone rang or someone came into
the room.
