Poland had about 3.3. million Jews before the holocaust, when over 3 million Polish Jews were killed or died from starvation. At present, there are only a few thousand Jews left in Poland.

@UP: Do you even know where Slovakia and Kosovo are? They are a couple of hundred kilometers apart. Also: Romania existed before WW1. As for the question: 1. Many states appeared - from Finland through Baltic states to Balkan states (the latest being Montenegro) 2. New forms of international cooperation like the Council of Europe and European Union. 3. Forms of government and economy changed, from liberal to social, from liberal capitalism to social capitalism. 4. Enforcement of many new civil, social and economic rights. 5. European societies turn their backs on religion - many people became atheists or agnostics. These are changes specific for Europe. Others are the same as in other parts of the world, such as development of technology, medicine, media etc.
