1) It depends on their teaching style. Some teachers like things more orderly and take a strong hand when it comes to controlling things, whereas others have a different philosophy. It doesn't make one more right than the other, because in *some* situations, tight control is best.
2) The class environment. Some classes are "rowdier" than others.
3) You're kids that are there for a reason. You're there to be taught, the teachers get you for a certain amount of time each day, and they have stuff they want you to learn.

I think that when you get older, you'll understand more. We were all kids once too. I remember how I was in school, and looking back now as an adult, my outlook was well, a kid's!
I'd say to do what your teacher asks, work hard, and have fun with your friends on your own time. Life in school will be easier then.

Teachers are human, and like all humans they make mistakes. It can't be helped. As hard as someone might be trying to do their job, from time to time their personality will get in the way--their insecurities, their fears, their prejudices. It just happens. Most teachers make a serious effort to do their jobs as well as they can. They teach because they enjoy teaching, they feel that what they have to impart is worthwhile, they enjoy seeing minds open up to new worlds, they enjoy the energy and inquisitiveness of youth. Yet there are always a few bad apples, that happens in any area of work or human life. It helps to keep that in perspective. You never know what a teacher has going on at home that might be disturbing them. For example it was only after I got out of school that I learned that one of my teachers who had often seemed moody and distracted had a mother at home who was dying of a miserable disease. So just try to keep things in perspective. Your goal is all that really matters, and that is graduating with as high a GPA as you possibly can because that increases your chances of either getting into a good college, or going directly into profitable and enjoyable employment.

I think they play favorites. and also, teachers know that they might lose control, because they really dont have any control over their kids and once the class all learns that its over...just in my experience anyway. So the teachers feel they need to be tough.
