Is there some way to control this, or does one just wait for it to pass???
Menstruating for 14 days straight is quite a nuisance!!!!

Yes it can. Most excessive bleeding when nearing menopause could be caused by cancerous cells in your womb. That doesn't mean you have cancer but the cells could develop into cancer. i haven't hit menopause ....yet. my sister did and she bled so much and for so long she had to take medication. my daughter's grandmother...the same thing. be careful you don't lose too much blood. ask your doctor what you can do.
