I am the luckiest Grandmother ever because I have a17 yr. old granddaughter and 15 yr. old grandson living right across the street. They come over several times weekly just to check the refrigerator and visit. My granddaughter keeps me up to date on everything going on in school and that keeps me young. She is graduating from the same H.S. I did however her G.P.{ 3.6} is a full one point higher than mine was. My grandson was on the football team this fall and I baked goodied for the team before every game. That is fun.

We string pop corn, pick up desert gourds and paint them every year, Every thing on the tree is made by the kids, We even let the neighbor kids help.
We make bop corn balls, candy apples, and pull taffy. It started out just our family but now its every kid in the neighborhood that wants to help is welcome It don't cost much and all he kids get to take stuff home We will begin on DEC 8 this year
It's very special for me all the kids call me grandpa

My husband takes them to select the tree. They come home and we let the kids decorate it. I'll probably be sad when I actually have a tree decorated properly. It just won't be the same.

Just spend time with them and give them lots of noisy toys. They live over 4 hours away so don`t get to spend as much time with them as I would like.

yep - drive them into D.C. to the Ellipse to see the National Christmas Tree and the States and Territories trees...the trains that circle the tree; the National Yule Log and the Carolers...then on to the US Capitol Tree ...
We get hot chocolate and freeze to death every year...lol - regardless of what the weather has been it is always cold and windy on the night we choose to go...but it's a ritual I and they don't want to be without :-)
