My apple trees make nice big apples, but they go spotty black before they reach maturity... I'm wondering if this has something to do with the leaves not coming off? [As it is chilly here in Ontario.]

As far as the leaves not falling off I've read several links and see nothing about that, unless, they are going to fall off later.
I have included a link for the black spot and a forum on disease.
