Hi Big Gone-
Try golfing at the Raven at Verrado. Recently cited as one of the top 10 courses in the US. It is at 4242 North Golf Drive in the surban community of Verrado, a sub-sect of the town of Buckeye. Their phone number is 623-388-3000. They are located about 2 miles off I-10 at exit 120.
The course offers 5 tee boxes which range from 7258 to 5142 yards. The slope ratings are 132 to 113 respectively. The views are really nice. You can see all the way to University of Phoenix Stadium, about 20 miles away. It is a good mix of traditional and desert fairways. Lots of elevation changes. Bring a lot of balls. I'm a 24 HDCP and I loose about 6 balls on each round.
The community of Verrado is very nice. It sort of reminds me of downtown La Jolla in San Diego.
Whatever you decide...Have a good round of golf.
Tom

Troon North is the top rated club by many in Scottsdale/Phoenix area, there are many chomping at it's heels, you might try WeKoPa or Sun Ridge Canyon, both in Fountain Hills (a suburb east of Scottsdale) for a little less money and spectacular golf.

Well many years ago before all the homes choked many golf courses....Grayhawk, Troon North were some of my top favorites. Today, go with Wekopa, like Arizona golf 5 years ago. If your going with Best play hands down...Estancia Club, but good luck tryign to get a round...uber-private. Public course...Troon Pinnacle Course is still my favorite.
