I hear this term in various songs. I may be wrong but I don't think it's meant in a particularly good way - I mean it doesn't mean your special or bright or anything. Any help would be appreciated.

In the movie "The Shining" it was considered a gift to "see things" most people don't see. The little boy in the movie had the Shining.
