It would be great if people always lived exemplary lives. Unfortunately, most people make bad choices especially when they are young and especially those who go away to colleges far from home. If we disqualify every college student who did something stupid we would have more vacancies than available candidates.

However, what is important is if they turned themselves around and probably more importantly, how long it took them to change their ways. If they were behaving badly for a while but have not for many, many years that is Okay. If, on the other hand, they only stopped behaving badly a year or two ago, they are not yet proven to be reformed.

Absolutely I mean even though in this type of government our vote doesnt matter anyway, but all of these are major factors on if this person can lead a country. For these reasons a alcoholic obviouly has personal and mental issues they need to deal with, a sexual freak has issues more so then a alcoholic, as far as being arrested of course it would come down to why and what for.Even though we have had good presidents in the past who were all three I think we should still avoid them if we can.

Being an alcoholic or promiscuous shows lack of control, irresponsibility, and carelessness. Those would influence my decision. If a candidate just has a few youthful transgressions, maybe a fight or shoplifting, I wouldn't be bothered.

He could be a sober alcholic. He or shes sexual history is none of my business and has nothing to do with the ability to lead our nation, and Ive been arrested for littering so, I mean it depends on the crime.

So Possibly except in regards to sexual promiscuity in which case It doesnt affect my decision.

no, no, no.
If you restricted politicians by these criteria, would there be any left?

My ideal candidate might be a promiscuous alcoholic. Maybe they wouldn't cause as much trouble.
