barber quarter. It has no mint on it. What does this mean? Is this coin worth anything? It is not in the best shape but the date and every thing on it is readable.

Well, it's worth more than 25 cents, that's for sure, since it's solid silver. Go to Ebay and search on Barber quarters and it will give you an idea of what they are going for.

If the coin has a mint mark it is on the eagle side under the tail feathers and above the letters R in quarter & D in dollar. It is at least worth around 8 times face value for the silver in it and worth $4 to $6.50 in low circulated grades. If there is no mint mark there it was minted in Philidelphia. That was common for the times. Only starting in 1980 did they put a P on a coin for that mint and never on the cent. The coin was also struck at the New Orleans mint (O) value $7-$12 in low grades and San Francisco (S) $6-$9. The low drades here are good & very good. Coin worth more if a higher grade. The values here are about what a coin dealer would pay.

Yes, and obviously since it was in circulation we can figure it probably had been stolen. Coins like that don't get out of collector's hands.

Wow you got lucky, it's certainly worth at least the price of scrap silver which is more than it's face value.

why is this in the games and recreation area?
it's probably some old coin that you could sell to a coin collector for a dollar :)
