We have a year old artificial prelit Christmas tree. There is a strand of lights out. I am not going to go thru them as the tree is already up. My instructions says it's a no no to add lights. Has anyone ever added lights? Is it safe?

I've put them on separately. We have a stay lit and have not had problems. We have not had any lights go out, I just like lots of lights. I even have some bubble lights!
Good Luck!
Merry Christmas!

The safest thing to do it to heed the warning or get some technical advice from either the manufacturer or someone who knows the specifics of why the manufacturer of that particular tree gives this warning.. The warning probably has to do with a fear of fire if the lights that you add get too hot. The ones already on the tree have the proper wattage and spacing so that the heat they generate won't be sufficient to melt or incinerate the tree. If you were to put higher wattage, or a different type of bulb that got hotter than the ones on it now, or if you bunched bulbs too closely together you're running a risk if the tree can melt or catch on fire.

there is a reason that the manufacturer said not to add lights to your prelit tree.

I understand not adding lights but how can I get the existing lights to blink?
