That's such a good question! I don't really know what signals we pick up on but some people just give off types of nonverbal signals that we subconsiously pick up on to be trustworthy or suspicious and sneaky, boring or spontaneous, inquisitive or apathetic, passive or challenging.

We're attracted to those that match our needs at the time. (That's why I can look at my spouse - whom I married later in life - and say I I wouldn't have been the right person for you when we were younger.)

I'm sure science can dissect all of the reasons we're attracted to or put off by certain people but I still think there's an element of our souls that just search out what we need for us even when we can't put our fingers on why we want to know someone better or why we don't like someone.

The bond that I have with some one special is so very frightening because it became so deep so fast but upon meeting we knew what the other was thinking and were finishing each others thoughts and sentences. I once described him as a "better version of me". Our relationship defies description

I think occassionally in this life, we find our soulmate. Then, the click is like a clap of thunder.
