I most certainly have and no, it's not awkward. I mean particularly with a movie because very little interaction is necessary when watching a film. Besides, I like my own company!

After childhood, starting at about 13, I always went to the movies by myself. Actually, I didn't enjoy it as much if I went with a friend or a date. I wanted to be focused on the movie completely. I usually sat about three rows back, exactly in the center if at all possible. Then, I have little to distract me.

Yes, I have dined by myself. I ask for a corner table or someplace out of the way. I usually have a book or notebook in my purse, and I read or write.

It's not a big deal to go places by yourself. I've even gone to places such as science fiction/genre conventions and reenactment events alone and enjoyed it very much. It's freeing not to have to worry about someone else's schedule. Also, I can play my bowed psaltery when and where I want instead of feeling as if I should be chatting with my friend. Other times, it's a lot of fun to have company.

But, solitary isn't a bad thing. I've spent most of my life alone. I don't understand people traveling in packs like they do.

Oh yeah lots of times. I used to enjoy going to Western Sizzlin on Friday nights and ordering me a big ole steak with mushrooms covering it and didn't feel awkward in the least. But I definetly prefer to have company and now that I have a true love in my life we both enjoy going out to eat together especially at a restaurant called the Raging Burrito. I also used to go to the movies every Sunday by myself and had fun. But everything is so much better now that I have my sweetie to go with me.

Yes, if I want to see a movie I'll go and see it on my own as well go to a restaurant on my own. I never selfishly need somebody to hold my hand to any event I personally want to go to or miss out seeing what I want to this also includes seeing bands also going to the beach or for a drink at the pub. I live in the center of the city so it's like five minutes walk out my door. If people can go to work on there own and work with a bunch of strangers they befriend why not do this everywhere you go this is how I've met most of my friends.

I eat by myself everyday in a cafe across from where I work. At first it was great because I could read my book or get some work done, but after a while all the staff got to know me and now they come over and chat on and on about crappy TV programmes and their sexlives, and the guy who owns the place keeps hitting on me. So yeah. It can get a bit awkward eventually.

Yeah, a lot of times. Does it really matter? I love being surrounded by friends... having people to have good laughs with.. but there are just moments when I'd rather be alone for a few hours... enjoy my tacos alone... watch a good movie by myself. Not at all awkward. Some people have an issue with it though. They fear being seen alone because they fear being perceived as a loser.

Nope I never did either , I guess because of the fact it would be awkward. I have eaten in a dinner and fast food place by myself but never a restaurant...

I once went to a movie with my husband (then he was my boyfriend) 'Urban legends 3' and he fainted within the first 10 minutes of the movie, so we left. ( yeah, and I still married him... weird huh?)

I REALLY wanted to see it so I went back the next day while he was at work and watched it by myself.

It was awesome! I didn't have to share the jaffas and no one picked on the movie all the way through. I felt very grown up!

I also didn't tell him that I went back to see it on my own because I didn't want him to feel bad!

Yeah it might feel awkward? But I love to go by myself from time to time because it's relaxing. Bring the paper sit back and take it all in, because I have to little ones at home.
