I can't imagine a British lawyer for a suspect in a crime being allowed to make such inflamatory remarks about another suspect publicly, can you? I can certainly imagine that a suspect might say such a thing, but surely a lawyer should be cautioning against such remarks not making them!!!
Am I missing something? Perhaps I just don't understand the Portuguese legal system...

No, you're right Skidoo, most lawyers wouldn't get away such inflamatory remarks.

Well, the Murats, who also have NO EVIDENCE against them, don't have a million quid in donations, Richard Branson paying legal bills, and a PR guru, spinning them a story. So I guess they need someone to stand up for them. Morals and inflamatory remarks certainly don't seem to bother the McCanns or the Tapa 9 or the PR guru from dragging Murats name through the mud. As far as the McCanns go, I already have cursed them several times. For neglecting their children while they got drunk, and for having to read their names and see there stupid looking faces in the paper everyday since May. I would much prefer them just crawl under a rock and save us their BS, and spin.

It is a bit odd. But then, it was the police who made him a suspect. not the McCanns. If the police think he is innocent, they could lift his status.
And there I was, thinking that they couldn't discuss the case or else they'd get into trouble.

I agree with SpencerD, it's called freedom of speech and as he's speaking the truth(unusual for a lawyer) - no problem.
If they're looking for someone to curse them I'll volunteer

I believe they have free speech in Portugal - remember we used to have that - so he is entitled to his opinion.

Fortunately, they only have to look northeast, and admire that paradise of justice, humanity and politeness called Britain.
