Me and my work colleague were fitting a shower basin in an Indian house the bathroom was tiny barely room for us two but the guy there insisted on being in there with us watching.

With their arms crossed and a tight buttoned up expression on their faces as if you are trying to cheat them out of their rightful inheritance. I've seen it often.

My husband is in renovations and unfortunately there are so many contractors that take off with the money, or do a poor job, or work a couple of hours and book for more hours. I know its irratating but people do have a right considering the reputation isnt always rosey. Cheer up its wide spread, wrong to pigeon hole asians. Its alot of people of all cultures.

are they gay ? just wondering, but maybe because they dont want you to steal anything from their house, and they want to make sure you do the job right because maybe somebody ripped them off before, and they dont like outsiders if your not asian as well, or maybe they think your a dirty mexican and your going to do something terrible because your just not trustworthy enough to leave in an indian house with a guy you barely know.

Totally agree with you. Asians like to make sure that you are doing the job they want, so they stand over you like they would with one of their possessions. It's insulting really, that is why I will never work for any asian again. They not only pay badly but they are lousy bosses too.

Asian people are very astute with money. Having watched you and your colleague fit a shower basin, I doubt that this man will ever pay anyone else to do it for him again, he'll do it himself.

"Asian" covers an enormous variety of cultures from Turkey to Japan and Siberia to Indonesia. You cannot talk about one group and call them "Asian" as though they were typical of all of them.
Lots of people like to watch others work, particularly if they are paying for it. I do, and I am Australian of European descent.

its so they can watch how you do it, then theyll be advertising soon! theyll be starting their own business, they like to do everything themselves, thats why most of thems cars are stuck together using duct tape stuff!! pmpl

it's not just asians that do it,stop being racist.I stand and watch any workmen in my house cos i want to make sure they're doing the job propperly and not rip me off for shoddy work.

because they naturally do fine artwork... well work period and if you don't do it they way they like it they'll get frustrated
