Entirely in favor; grew up in a violent household at a time when divorce was highly frowned upon; too bad -- could have made a difference had my mother felt she had some choice in whether she stayed or left. However, just as marriage shouldn't be taken lightly, nor should divorce. There are truly deplorable circumstances that demand the severance of a relationship, but also those that may shift to the more positive and workable given mutual effort and desire.

I'm a Christian so I believe that Marriage is sacred.. however. if you are abused either physically or verbally, or your children are, then of course I think you owe it to yourself to leave your mate. I think there are boundaries. Such as, if your husband/wife is a Pervert, or has an addiction that they can't quite and it's destroying the family life, you have to take stand. You can always get back together, but for the health and well being of everybody, somethings just have to be done. If you are just unhappy, then I think you should get counselling and try to fill that void with something that makes you happy and see if there is an improvement. Medication can cause some serious effects, so talk to your physician too before you leave. That's just my opinion. I'm not married, but come from a broken home. I also think it should be done and over fast, or not at all. Children aren't suppose to get brought into it, but do ultimately. It's denile if you think otherwise.

Against.
Divorce is the death of a family.
Adultery is the only reason for divorce, other things can be worked out if both try.

Religion probably has a lot to do with most people's views. In all honestly, I'm not all for gay marriage, mainly for scientific reasons meaning, if everyone were gay, how will the human race reproduce and evolve. But since that isn't a problem right now, and since i'm very open to the constitution of the united states, I'm compelled to let it be. Time and time again we allow the rights of those in protest be trampled over simply because the majority wishes it to be, even though the wishes of our founders forbid it. If you view my profile, you'll see I've answered against my own belief's simply because of this fact. I may not support many of the things I've stood by, but its only because politicians use this majority of support to make money, while the minority suffers. If two gay persons want to marry, I really don't care, so long as they don't impose it on me and don't impose it on my kids. Truth is, i've seen people show up at my door trying to impose their religion on my family, i've never seen a gay person try to impose their sexual-ism in that manner. The constitution, you know, the thing that politicians, wipe their butts with, don't look at it that way, they look at majority and majority only because that is what wins elections. I'm an independent, however the republican party is more prone to use religion to stand by their political motives, to answer your question. Not saying the other side can't do the side, just more likely. What people do in their own home is their own business so long as they don't try to include my family in on it, and this doesn't just apply to sexuality, it applies to religion, politics and several other factors involving the pollution of an education of an American. In today's times, I am seeing the constitution of the united states being violated nearly every single day, considering this, despite my scientific concerns, i'm compelled to stand by gay rights regardless of the fact that i'm straight, and I encourage others to do the same. I do this solely to preserve the laws in which our nation was founded on, and not the loopholes in which our elected politicians strive hard to cash in on for power, money and conquest. I don't remember reading about gay rights in the constitution, so leave it alone. They want to marry, what is it to you? Oh Yeah, its MONEY and VOTES! Get over it, your time is limited as society is learning your ways. Get over it, its only a matter of time until education conquers the green of politics. The constitution was never meant to favor the majority over the minority, it was meant to favor equal rights, period. It's ashame politicians have twisted it to mean something else in their favor.

I'm in favor of it. People take it for granted. There was a time in this country where you weren't allowed to divorce. and no matter what happend, you had to be stuck with an asshole u hate. its a escape claus so people can pursue happiness. Also, that is why that king beheaded all his wives becuase divorce wasnt allowed so he had to cut thier heads off to remarry. If individuals dont want to divorce thats fine, but they souldnt be against it for society as a whoole. its really a blessing and its just too bad that people dont see that.

It depends. I am against divorce for selfish reasons. Say people have been married for years with children - what the heck.Husband/wife cheating? Get over it if you can. That is part of our life reality.
If there are serious issues on board like threat to partner's life/abuse then ok(if there is no room for change).
Humanbeings are becoming more and more selfish. Married for money? Then divorce for money = selfish reasons.
My advice - do not marry if you cannot share whole heartedly.

I hate the thought of divorce. It would be great if no one every had to get one. Unfortunately, there are circumstances when it is absolutely necessary.

I do, however, wish that people realized that "the rest of you life" is a very, very long time, before saying "I do".

Definitely in favor, why have two people miserable if the marriage is over, especially difficult for children to see or hear parents quarrel.

In favor - if you're married to someone who abuses you, especially physically, or your spouse cheats on you, then you should have every RIGHT to get a divorce.
