I think people have certainly lost creativity that they can only think of guns and violence for games. The modern computer games do have rich graphics but in terms of theme and story, not much creative... What do you say?

Yes, most comp games have violence because that's what those games are all about: action. And the best way for action without thinking too much is killing... It is one way of getting points, destroy and win.
Those games are just popular though, there are many others out there without any killing!
Some have a plot too.

The industry is in a rut. Most of the good or great games for pc were made by smaller devs. These have almost all been gobbled up by corporations like SOE or a few others. Its not that the creativity isnt there it is simply that those holding the purse strings wont go out on a limb anymore. The same happens in tv and movies... someone with balls will break the genres soon. Probably BIOWARE and then the rest will make knock offs...

Some games glorify it, some don't, but with this whole sandbox game generation it will get more and more popular

I guess in a way it portrays the real world as gritty as that may be, and adult films have had guns in them and these games are for adults so there is no difference, do i think there should be an age limit, of course do i think that will stop little kids nope

i agree with you, games have been increasing in violence, and are still violent, and they dont seem to do anything about it. I have noticed that it has been increasing after the introduction on the nitendo. I believe violence is becoming acceptable and common on cartoon shoes, in MTV advertisments, its not even FUNNY.

I think they are in the same rut as TV shows are. You can have reality TV, doctor or lawyer shows. No real creativity because Americans will continue to watch garbage if they are told to.

It sounds like you are the one who rate the video games! I love violence, if you don't like it, don't play it or figure out a way to avoid your kids from playing violent games. (violence makes it more interesting)
