Cannot get heater fan fixed as it will cost me £400!!!!!!!!!! (worth more than the car)

I know I can use a cloth to demist.. I am not stupid enough to drive with a misted up window, so will not get stopped by the police! DUH!

You are driving a vehicle with a dangerous visibility problem, get it fixed or take it to a scrap yard before you cause an accident.

On the other hand open the window a bit and wear a hat, coat and scarf.

Open the window and wrap up warm. Cigar lighter heaters are pretty useless. The proper car heater is about 3000 watts, a plug-in is 100 at most. Or fix the fan.

You are driving an unsafe vehicle. If you don't get it fixed, you are liable to get a ticket, or even be in an accident. I had the same problem some years back with one car, but, most of my driving was highway so I had airflow even without a fan until I was able to replace it, but in stop and go city driving, you need air movement to keep the window clear.

£400 sounds a bit steep to get a heater blower fixed, is that the best quote you got? You really need to get it fixed, because come winter, there's no way you'll be able to see out, and trying to drive in -10C with no heating is dangerous!

Get the Motor fixed. I think that if a Police Officer catches you with a fog windshield you will pay in fines $ than it would to get it fixed.
