Science Homework:
I need information or a website on trade winds. I need to know basic stuff about them, where they occur and how they are produced.
PLS help! Cuz i cant understand anything on the internet.

You need to look at the general circulation of the atmosphere. Around the equator is a belt of low pressure, further away from the equator is a belt of high pressure in each hemisphere called the Sub-tropical Ridge (STR). Air descends at the ridge and some blows back towards the equator while further south, the air blows towards the poles.

The air blowing towards the equator is deflected by the Coriolis effect so the southerly becomes a southeasterly in the southern hemisphere and the northerly becomes a northeasterly in the northern hemisphere.

These are the southeast and northeast trade winds.
