I love Bette Middler her voice her actions her flare her songs are always intensely meaningful and Alanis Morissette produced the only album that I have like every song on the album I find her songs meaningful and relevant. I think she changed the way doctors prescribe antibiotics. I am not saying this is good or bad but it shows relevance. Reminds me of Pave Paradise and its effect of the use of pesticides.

in my lifetime (since that's what I know the best) I'd have to say hip hop/r&b is Alicia Keys, Country would have to be Reba McIntire. Most talented vocally is waaaayyy too difficult, but i'd say top three :
1) whitney houston
2) Mariah Carey
3) Celine Dion
Not that I love all the styles, but vocally they are impressive. My favorite hands down is Alicia Keys though.
