"this would be a great job if i wasn't for the students." do you feel that way about your job? it would be nice if it wasn't for the customers?

It's certainly true of teaching. And I would imagine any kind of work with the public. In college I briefly (I lasted 3 whole days!) worked serving the public. I had a job at an ice cream parlor. A lady came in and ordered three ice cream cones. As I handed her the 3rd (She had one in each hand at the time) she said none too pleasantly, "What am I supposed to do with the third one?" So I made a suggestion and got fired.

Yep! Schools are great without the students...oh and...if you're in administration, they're also good without the teachers. LOL
But basically, don't you hate it when you want customer service and the salesperson/waiter/??? finds it annoying to deal with you. I just want to say something like."Dear, I'm the cause of your employment, NOT the interruption to it."

when i worked at the day care centre- i loved my job and the kids.But some of the parents expected more from their lil kids(ages were 3-5)They seriously took it as though it was a bigger schooling programme that was run.It was pre-school,not infants.We were not teachers in early childhood for kindi up.We had to potty train some and finger paint,they took naps etc,they were toddlers,being forced to grow up too soon.sad.cheers :)

haha, yes, l used to work in a toyshop, loved the job, my workmates were all friendly, but hay some of the customers!!!

I once worked as a waiter of sorts) in an Italian restaurant. One customer complained about everything very loudly and harrassed me for hours. I spit into his Tiramisu and covered the glob with extra whipped cream........

thats for sure, when i worked in a station i felt that way! and they say the costomer is always right! yeah, sure they are. lol
