I've never played on a DS console, so I have no idea what game to give as a Christmas pressie for a 12 year old girl. She's going into high school next year, so I think she will soon be too old for Nintendogs and other such games she already owns.

Sim City is fun, but it's hard to say what a 12 year old girl will think of it.
Go for something more fun/action oriented, like Super Princess Peach, or Animal Crossing.

Sim city is aimed more at the older DS gamer. She may like Sims 2 pets or animal crossing, both are great games.
