Few, as we know, have dared to challenged Team McCann in public, Kate and Gerry's lawyers have threatened legal action time and again against anyone or anything that does not adhere to their version of the disapearance of Madeleine. But one loan voice stands out above the fear, Robert Murats lawyer, Mr Pagarete, is telling it like it is to Kate and Gerry - "What they deserve is for somebody to curse them, to make them pay for having left three children unprotected." "On top of it all they have bank accounts which are stuffed full...who abandoned three children and who daily swan around the streets".
Three cheers for Mr Pagarete, its about time someone stood up to the thugs and bullies in Team McCann ?

Well said. It's about time someone had the guts to say what they think about the McCanns. They have acted improperly with regard to being arguidos but always arrogantly place themselves above the law. Murat has played by the rules and kept quiet( whether he is innocent or guilty is beside the point)No matter what the McCanns and co have thrown at him he has remained silent.
Hope the PJ make some headway when they arrive in the UK today.

It is strange that a lawyer can speak out like this when others insist that they cannot. It doesn't say a lot for the system that allows this sort of thing. However, I agree that the McCanns behaviour and that of the tapas 9 lead into the arguement he is stating. Murat has at least been dignified with his behaviour. Team McCann rushing around trying to get 'sightings' all the time and acting independently has only served to pour more scorn on them and the dodgy statements. I wish the whole matter could be cleared up, with the truth. But I fear that will never happen.

look at the end of the day we dont know what happened to that little girl but harassing the parents is not going to help find her
the parents have to be held responsible for there actions (leaving them in the first place) but now is not the time wait and see what happened to her first
all this speculation dosent help the case
and lets remmember while we all sit here gossiping about this there is a little girl who if alive is verry frightened and god knows whats going on.
it will all come out in the wash

I think it says something about the Portuguese legal system that a lawyer in a case like this is allowed to make such statements publicly.
And btw - it's 'a lone voice'; 'a loan voice' would be one he'd borrowed.

Judging by your answers Adam, seems your statement 'what many of us feel about them' is a load of shite, oh apart from the predictable hate filled pessimists, little weed etc.

I don't see what this has to do with Mr.Murat, who like the McCanns, is an official (not main) suspect in this tragic case.
If his lawyer sees fit to air his personal opinion against the McCanns, which happens to agree with your & your camp's Adam, I'm certain the McCann's lawyer could easily return the favour.
However, i do hope team McCann doesn't stoop as low, for this would be tantamount to mere mud slinging.
Let the investigating authorities do their job & find proof for the serious allegations & accusations being hurled around, i say.

I'm classed as 'anti' but I think this might be taking it a bit far and he is playing into the hands of the McCanns by making comments like this. I don't agree with the first quote, no one deserves cursed and if they are innocent (if) then they are paying a massive price.

Just for one moment, imagine that Madeleine, as is almost certainly the case, WAS abducted by a stranger. You certainly do not know any different other than all the theories that are being formulated by analysing news reports.
Whatever - imagine she WAS abducted. Her parents would be (and indeed I believe are) the victims of one of the most terrible crimes known to man.
Then imagine how it feels. Then imagine how it feels to have a load of uninformed, ignorant and naive morons telling the world that, far from YOU being a victim, you are actually a criminal.
If you CAN imagine that, stop writing this vitriolic nonsense and do some good for someone instead of adding to the misery of someone so deserving of our sympathy.

Don't wake up with such a mean head on.
Robert Murat is not out of the water just yet. If he was then he wouldn't still be an official suspect. Why are you so sure that he is innocent? There's more to this than any paper knows or likes to guess.
edit: Thinking about it. Will you be so quick as to damn Robert Murat like you have the McCanns if it is shown that he is involved. One moment your giving his solicitor three cheers for standing up to the McCanns but the next you'll be on here pointing the finger. You can't have it both ways.
Here's a motto for you
Look before you leap
Edit (again) Are you a dad? Imagine if it was your child. Would you give up on your child so easily? I wouldn't. I would be doing all that the McCanns are doing to try and find my child. Even if the finger was pointing at me. Madeleine McCann is still out there and I don't blame to parents for not giving up on her.
Shame on you
