College is a good option. Try looking at a local community college or technical college. Just because you didn't do well in high school doesn't mean you're doomed for higher education. Community college is a great option for students needing to start at a slower pace. Also, classes tend to be MUCH smaller than those in a 4-year university, so you can get to know your professors better and get more assistance when you need it.

did you apply to any colleges? just because you did poorly in high school doesn't mean that your life is over. a college education is your best bet -- even if you feel you did poorly in high school, try to at least get into a community college (frankly, they'll accept pretty much anyone) and then after say two years, you can easily transfer into a bigger school because they'll look at your community college grades, not high school. with a college degree under your belt, it'll open the doors to bigger and better opportunities, which i'm sure you know.
however, if you want to take a year off from school to think things through and get a steady job, go for it. some people get a job right out of high school and never look back. i've known people to be just as successful that way (ie, moving up in management without ever going to college). or, if you decide to go to college, some schools will look highly on you for the stamina and dedication you exhibited by taking a year off to save up, work, etc.
good luck!

First get a job any job then start studying. I was the same way in 1966 I didn't study in high school but graduated. I worked minimum wage jobs a bit then was a housewife but when I wanted a job it just wasn't worth it so I went to college. You can get into a community college when you are ready. I got a two year degree in accounting with a 3.7 GPA out of 4.0 because I was older and paying my own tution, college is easier than high school and only 15 hours a week.
Don't waste time going until you are fed up not making much money and you will get more out of it.

Try to find a entry level job at a company that has a phone oriented customer service department. These jobs will pay the most, require the least experience, and offer the best benefits of all of the entry level jobs out there. One benefit you may receive is tuition assistance. Use this to either go to college or get a technical degree. Most companies will pay for any computer education you're willing to procure so long as it helps you do your job. Another great benefit is that customer service jobs at at the lowest level of a corporate ladder. Unlike restaurant jobs, retail jobs, or gas station jobs, you could feasibly be promoted as high as it goes. With no college education I've been promoted at my job twice in two years and am now a marketing manager. I started in customer care. It's doable! I will start back to college this summer and 80% of cost will be paid by my company.

Congrats on graduating hs! :) I did poorly (grade wise) in high school as well. So, just know that you are not a lone! You could do a lot of things! You could try working for a year and see how you like it. And, if you hate it you could try college. Or vise versa. Or you could just take a few hours of college and work part time/full time. You could travel. You could go work on a cruise. You have plenty of options. No worries my friend.

Make up your mind that you don't want to be in this position or worse and get yourself a job that looks like it might have potential for advancement. Since your academic achievements are not stellar, you will have to start at the bottom . Go to the state employment commission and tell everyone that you know that you are serious about bettering yourself. Work, prove yourself and go back to school. Education is always the key. Good luck.

Your job choices will be limited if you don't go to college. Try going to community college at first. Take a light schedule and try to learn from past mistakes. Why did you do poorly? Is there something you can change? Where there bad influences? It's never to late to start fresh.
Good luck.

You should talk to you local military recruiter. The military offers a number of options for training in many areas and it can give you time to grow and mature while you figure out what you want to do. After you finish serving your country, the GI bill offers financial assistance to continue your education. Some even choose to make the military a long term choice with retirement options after 20 years.
The military could give you the attitude adjustment to help you be successful in life.
Good luck with whatever you choose.

well you graduated so now you can either go into the workforce full time or you can work part-time and also go to community college (online or night classes)
i would recommend community colleges because alot of them have tech schools that offer degrees in a year or less, and you can make a lot more money and have more job opportunities when u get a degree!!!!
