Every weekend we hang out w/my boyfriend's best friend and her husband. I get along w/most people but something about her rubs me the wrong way. I am always polite to her but everytime I talk to her she interrupts me and starts talking about herself and doesn't really listen to me. I feel like she doesn't really want to make the effort to befriend me. Also she always acts like she's 50 in that she never wants to go out (we're all 21-23 years of age). She also makes comments to him all the time like I never thought you two would last this long.
I don't understand it. I'm really trying hard to like this girl and my boyfriend wants us to hang out w/them every weekend so what can I do to make it bearable?
No BS answers, thanks.

You teach people HOW TO treat you.

Not much you can or even need to do about her behavior but it's you behavior and attitudes that you can work on.
I'd get some information about relationships and self esteem and see if you can come up with some useful coping skills to deal with others and TEACH them how to treat you.

These coping skills can be learned here or in books:

Sounds like your boyfriend is jealous of your relationship with your best friend. Make arrangements so that you can spend time with both of them. Talk to your boyfriend and tell him the truth, nothing but the truth. Your best friend was there for you before you hooked up with him right? It looks like to me that you're caught in the middle between your best friend and your boyfriend. Talk to your best friend as well. Yes, she is new in town, but she needs to go out there and meet new people. Your friend feels "left out" right now because she feels that you are putting your boyfriend first before her. Reassure her that you will always be there for her, but let your actions speak louder than words. The best thing that you can do is to talk to your boyfriend and your best friend. I hope my advice helps. Good luck.
