I don't believe I've been negative or rude. I've just been honest. People ask the same questions over and over. Simple fact, Japan is not an easy country to move to. Nor is it easy to get a job there. Too many people here ask mindless questions. They talk about moving to a country they know nothing about.
If you ask a serious question, you should get a serious answer. If you want to have fun, try the jokes section. I stand by my answers as they're given in an honest manner. I love Japan, her people and culture.
Thanks JOriental. Arigato !

Serious questions should receive a serious answer. And it's a violation of yahoo's TOS to give a non-answer. Carl has given some very honest answers. It probably was'nt what the person wanted to hear, but that's life. Moving to another country is a very serious matter. People should know the difference between what they see in the movies and how it is in real life.

I agree, but I also suspect that someone is posting hateful things about Japan and has created more than one profile, so that s/he can thumbs down everyone else and answer their own questions with a hateful response. Who knows how many DIFFERENT people are actually posting anti-Japanese comments. I'm sure there are more than one (not everyone has to like Japan), but I do not feel that it is as significant as it appears....

Well, disregarding those people, I still think there are people countering the negative answers with more realistic answers (both positive and RESPECTFULLY negative answers). Hopefully people who ask questions will notice, as well.

Why should everyone be positive?

I quite agree about whaling problem, but I think negative opinions are required to be fair. As Rabbityama says, there will always be people criticizing something you fascinating. Sometimes their opinions worth to hear to deepen your understanding.

I don't think Carl the truth's answer is so negative. Quit bitching to others opinion.

Yea. I think Carl knows Japan's reality very much. He is the person who should come to Japan first.

Well put it this way with your whaling example...
Beef comes from cows of which there is an abundance. Beef fills my burgers, not whale meat.

Whales are a slow-reproducing, endangered, and in many countries, protected species. It's no wonder that people are angry about Japan killing whales for under the guise of "scientific research" when all they do is brutally kill them and then slop them into their dog food. From what I hear, whale isn't even a delicacy in Japan, and most of it goes in low quality human food, pet food, or just gets thrown out.

Plus, Japan blatantly ingores the International Antarctic agreement and doesn't recognise that Antarctic waters are not a free for all. It refuses to recognise that many countries lay claim to all different parts of Antarctica and its waters, which is downright criminal.

People with low self-esteem like to bash other people in order to feel better about themselves.
