Here are my facts: I am minority Mexican-American, coming from a low-income family. My overall G.P.A is 3.85, I am currently taking four AP courses my senior year. I played football all four years, and started all four. Currently in senior cabinet, which is leadership. Have volunteered to work for the Red-Cross. Had plenty of work experience and I am ranked 22 out of 468 seniors. My only doubt are my SAT scores. Not so good. 1510. (will re-take it in December) SO do I have a chance?

You are correct that everything else is fine, but the SATs will keep you out unless they go up.

USC, as a private institution, can use your ethnicity and financial background as a factor in their admission decision, and that will help you. However, considering your grades and activities, if you are able to get a higher SAT score you should be thinking about UC Berkeley or Stanford. They are better schools than USC. You should be able to get in to either with higher SAT scores and well a constructed admission essay.

UC Berkeley is ALOT more affordable than USC as well. USC will cost you $35,000 a year in tuition, while UC Berkeley will cost you less than $6,000 (if you are a California resident).

You'll most likely get into USC, but if I were you I'd apply to UC Berkeley as well.
