Where I live, if you have a limited rail pass, you are requried to show current date prior to being checked. If the train conductor comes round and the date is not correct, he/she has the legal right to take the pass away from you. I encountered such a situation in my city as the ticket conductor was threatening to take my pass away if I didn't stop arguing with him about not having a current pass . At that point, I couldn't do anything about it and was completely helpless. (don't argue with the conductor)

When the train driver has a break grab the train drivers keys and drive the train yourself at full speed.

I love amtrak..and taking long trips..but wow the train can be real rocky..I sure would never try running!!!! Walking is hard enough!

I have never been on one but I have been telling my hubby that I want too. I could imagine I'd prob, people watch, eat, listen to mp3 and read....if we haven't arrived YET then I would nap......If I were w/ friends, I'd people watch and talk about people!!!
