Absolutely, it is true. It's sad that is happens, but it's human nature. We are automatically drawn to people who are more attractive, therefore we will do more to help them then people who are not.

I have seen it happen alot and have been guilty of it myself. I've also had it happen. I've seen how people treat myself and my more or less attractive friends. Waitresses will pay more attention to the more attractive of the couple they help. I have seen pretty woman have their coffee made before the less attractive woman, even though the same person took their orders.

It's not right, but that's the way society is. Don't believe me? Test it. Go out dressed nicely with your hair and face done perfect. Then go the same places a few days later looking more ratty and no makeup or pretty hair. You will notice a dfference in service.

Yes they do, if it is in the course of the other person's work or something non threatening like that and they are the opposite sex.

If they are the same sex, no, they are less likely to get help or be talked to nicely. People are easily jealous. Both men and women.

If they are trying to pick up, they are less likely to have someone normal and decent talk to them as people are generally insecure and will not approach them as they consider them out of their league and assume they will be rejected. They will however get talked to by people who are really full of themselves, are arrogant or are very very drunk.

Yes - lots of social science research to back this up. Better jobs, standards of living, outcomes in criminal justice etc. There is general agreement within societies on what constitutes "good looking" and those who are get better than average outcomes when factors such as class or education are held constant.

Yep, proven fact. Sad but true.

But I believe it was Raquel Welch who said, "If a girl is not beautiful at 20 it's not her fault. If she's not beautiful at 40, it is."

We can be our own kind of beautiful and make the best of what God has blessed us with. I feel WAY more beautiful at 40 than I did at 20 and a big part of that is being comfortable with myself.

yes, logical sense. People prefer to be around attractive people.

But I think we are all in control of wether or not we are attractive or not. Nice clothes and good shape body are in the control of all of us. So is plastic surgery.

Choose the right doctor. A lot of them just treat "patients" rather than "looks." My doctor and her partner treat AIDS patients all the time, and a whole lot of poor people. Attractive? No.

Yes. Blame it on Disney for making us think that way since young. All the witches in the cartoons look evil and all the princesses pretty and our heart goes out to them...
