Depends on the dog. Dogs that have oil based coats such as a Labrador should not be bathed all that often. We use a waterless ionized pet brush and let her swim in a mountain stream. No soap or only soap certified to work with Labs. If we wash her with soap it might only be every 12 to 18 months. She smells fine, her coat is an immaculate deep chocolate, and she does not have skin problems as long as we brush her with the ionized brush every other day and let her get her swim in once a month. Regular Soap on a Lab will cause skin irritation and eat away at their skin. Can even lead to skin rashes.

Once a month. Careful not to give dogs a bath unless they really need it. Dogs naturally secrete oils from their skin to protect their hair and the oils can make a dog smell. The more you bathe your dog, the more likely the dog will continue to habitually produce these smelly oils.

I no longer have a dog, but if I did, I would bathe her once a week or so. Can't let her coat dry out by bathing her too often, but don't want her too stinky either.

Never...okay once in a blue moon. But before you call Animal control I leave it to the groomer that is why!!

My friend was bathing her dog weekly and the groomer told her no way...only once a month but a daily brushing is good.

Whenever they need it. I try not to do it too often as it is bad for their skin. My dogs sleep with me and are very active so between baths we use a wet washcloth for clean up or those fresh up wipes :-)

When he smells so bad I cant stand him near me. Usually about every 2 months, and he hates it, he hides at just the mere mention of the word bath.

I live in the Aussie Bush and I wash my dog down heaps, especially if it is up around the 45-50 C mark, and when it's cooler, that goes on the doggy smell :-}
