FACT : The LOST Season Four Premiere will air during the week of Feb 4, 2008.
Rumor: LOST may move from it's Wednesday 10PM time slot, possibly to Mondays at 8PM.
FACT: As pointed out in other answers, the plan for LOST is three more seasons of 16 episodes each.
FACT: 8 of the Season 4 episodes are already completed.
RUMOR: If the writer's strike is not resolved, LOST may do a split season ending the first arc with a major cliff-hanger from the 8th episode.

For the countdown, I've used Wed. Feb 6, 2008, 10PM EST, assuming that it will air on or before that time. As of 5AM EST today, the countdown is at 69 Days, 17 Hours, 0 Minutes, 0 Seconds.
I also post a weekly LOST Photo - a screen capture from a LOST episode. Then everyone has fun coming up with a caption for the picture. These are usually extremely funny, highly entertaining, and insightful. This week's picture shows Kate being arrested by her nemesis, Marshall Edward Mars.
If LOST is really your favorite TV show, then you may already be suffering from a condition called SHOLW : the Sheer Horrors Of LOST Withdrawal.
Personally, I find that staring at the Season Four Countdown Timer, and posting and reading LOST Photo Captions helps alleviate the symptoms of SHOWL.

Season Four begins in February, 2008 in the US, Canada, England and Ireland. Viewers in Australia and New Zealand will probably have to wait a bit longer, though a more specific date than "2008" is not yet available, as far as I can determine.
Despite the rumors, "Lost" is not being canceled (due to the WGA strike). Eight episodes of Season four are complete and will be aired next year. The production of the other season four episodes may be delayed by the strike, but as of right now, the strike will not cancel the show.

February starts season 4, then, according to the shows producers, there will be 2 more seasons for a total of 6 seasons to complete the storyline.

it is not cancelled. abc has ordered seasons 4, 5 and 6. lost will end after season 6. season 4 starts in feb.

well i heard that i was picked up for three more 16 episode season or something like that. i think the premire iss in february.

yeah its on like febuary 2nd and i heard there was going to be three more seasons with 16 episode in each one
but i love the show and can't wait for it to come back
