Granny back in the day bull? Hey, way to ask for advice. You so sweeeeeeeet.
Ok so, what you wanna do is this... use mens shaving cream, the gel kind... shave using a very good, very expensive razor... even if it's a mans.
Then immediately after you shave rinse the stuff off and apply COLD water to your cootchy area.... this will prevent the bumps. And when your done, but not after the water is off, squirt baby oil all over the "area".... then towel off gently, don't RUB...
Also, very important. One swipe with the razor, then rinse the razor.
Hope that wasn't too granny for ya... haha.

I don't know how to prevent from getting razor burn but I sort of had the same problem and it became a bigger problem to the point where I'd bleed so much from shaving. You're skin down there is one of the most sensitive areas, my only suggestion is to not shave everyday. Give your skin a break and maybe shave at least twice out of the week.

Two main things
Trust in me
Both will work
1~ Lotion the area, let it soak in and make the skin / area really moist, then use your shaving cream or soap and use a new razor, take it slow with short strokes
2~ Any red bumps or irritation can be calmed with Visine
It works

Make sure you pick the right shaving cream (definitely not bath soap unless it states that it's also a great shaving cream) and a good razor. Other than that, try waxing.

To be honest, try waxing, you can do it yourself, just get a kit from the supermarket.
Or you can have it professionally done in a salon. It does hurt a bit, but well worth it in the long run.
Dont forget waxing does make the hairs grow back finer, I only get mine done every 6 months now

Either use Gillette shaving cream, or invest in an electric trimmer.

I have heard that if you shave going down instead of shaving up, than you don't get those bumps. Maybe you should use more shaving cream, or maybe you are allergic to the shaving cream your using.

As long as you want smooth skin, try laser removal. It`s a permanent solution, so should be more economical. I find it facinating that so many women are doing this, It makes it so much more pleasant to go oral.
