Yes you do need to judge. The meaning of the scripture means that if you judge others, expect others to judge you. We are all human and everyone of us has faults; just worry about the big flaws in a person and quit worrying over trivial details.
To be honest, people will judge you very negatively if your children are not raised to be good people. However, if you instill a strong sense of morality and teach proper manners; most people will judge you favorably.

Don't be so naive. Everybody judges everybody, including me. You judge without even realizing it, and so does everyone else.
And I don't think that's wrong. Yes, if my child does wrong, it's my duty and responsibility as a parent to do what I can to punish their behavior and correct it.

You have to read the context. It is not referring to the child rearing process. You do understand the difference between and adult and a child, right?
