If memory serves, expected lifespan is about four billion years, give or take a few hundred thousand.

Suffice it to say, we'll be long dead by the time it's expected to die.

its been here for roughly 14 billion years, and will still be around until it is engulfed by our sun.

When the sun dies, in another oh... 30 billion years? It will bloat out to the size of Mars orbit and swallow everything into it.

The earth itself was originally part of the same mass of material that formed the sun, so in a sense, the matter the makes up the earth is just being recycled back into the whole

There is a theoretical end to the universe tho. They say that blackholes eventually decay, and after long enough time like, in the quadrillion year range, all that will be left are random photons.

Whether there is something beyond that will take another advance in theoretical physics / cosmology

Scientists say that the earth is about 4 billion years old. It has about 5 billion more years until the earth is destroyed by the sun.

The Earth is not alive.

However, the Earth has existed for roughly 4.5 billion years, and will likely continue to exist for another 5 billion years until the Sun becomes a red giant and burns it to a crisp. It is also possible, though highly unlikely, that a large asteroid could collide with the Earth and destroy it.

It's said to be 6 billion years old and it'll be a planet for another 5 billion years as most astronomers believe. The earth won't be here for eternity. I actually predict one day a meteorite will hit the earth 5 billion years from now. Of course we won't have to worry about...

it's survived a few die offs in the past and it's gone thru some fairly radical changes, the middle east was a jungle, the ice age, gettin beaned with the odd snowball or rock but always bounced back that molten core and magnetic field are a Godsend
