Tried it once, out of curiosity. It is much too strong for me. That is why the younger beer drinkers prefer it for the kick they get after just a bottle or two. I would rate it a 6, meaning ok but nothing great.

But Red Horse has dislodged SMB Pale Pilsen as the largest selling beer in the country. SMC is not complaining, they own both brands.

You sound like a person who has good taste in alot of things especially beer. German beers are pretty damn good I must say so myself but when in the Philippines you should drink as the locals do. No sense in drinking the same stuff while your on holiday. San Miguel beers are pretty good and have a good taste. I prefer the Lights myself but the Pale Pilsen is a good choice too. Red Horse is a really strong beer and personally I think they sacrifice the taste for the strength. Most people on the street there drink it to get wasted. I would stick to San Miguel beers as they are both good in taste and cheap in price. Can't wait to go back and enjoy afew. Cheers on me mate!

Ok. First of all the happy horse having a stronger kick is a myth. They are the same brew because they come from the same line in the brewing process. The only difference between the happy horse and the regular RH is the packaging. What they call the happy horse is the old packaging. Red Horse changed a little bit of their logo in 1992 which resulted in new bottles being made. The old bottles (happy horse) still exist because RH bottles are recycled and cleaned. Their life span is 20 years before they get discarded. You can determine the age of the bottle by looking at the bottle's scuff level. It's the white band around the neck of the bottle. the thicker it is, the older the bottle.

Now going to your questions:

Red Horse when compared to different beer brands in the Philippines is sweeter because of the amount of hops it contains. Ingredients of the beer are malt, sugar, cereals, hops and brewing water.

I like the kick of Red Horse because it has 6.8% alcohol by volume

I rate it with a 10. =)

It's suggested retail price is:

RHB 330ml (stallion) Php 16.00
RHB 500ml Php 24.00
RHB 1000ml (Litro) Php 46.00
RHB can Php 26.00

i give red horse a seven. it has a distinct bittersweet taste provided that you consume the beverage in its cold taste.

red horse beer has a high alcohol content (ac): higher than the local beers in the philippines. for your information: the red horses sold commercially in the united states have a lower ac because the philippine version's ac is so high that it was not allowed to be sold in the american market; hence, the alteration.

getting drunk easily by drinking red horse is a double-edged sword: you can either enjoy it because you can get wasted with a few bottles and save all that money for another party or loathe about it because it could induce you to purge a lot.

a bottle costs around 23 pesos (fifty cents) per stallion bottle. a grande (half a liter) costs around 30 pesos.

hope this helps. thank you and god bless.

On a 1 to 10 scale a 6. It's an okay beer, better than the San Miguel lights, thats for sure. Only takes a few to get you feeling good.

Bad points: Tastes like it's mixed with gin and packs a powerfull hangover.

A cold stallion in the sari sari is P27. In a bar or resturant it's usually P35-P45.

It depends. There are 2 kinds of Red Horse Beer (maybe some people here haven't noticed it yet).... The plain red Horse and The Happy Horse..

There are 2 ways to distinguish the happy horse from the regular:
1. The Face of the horse (front of the bottle).. The Happy Horse have a "smiling horse"..
2. The back label. The regular red horse has a gold back label while the Happy Horse has a red back label.

Ok, about your question, the regular Red Horse is quite ok..I would rate it as 5/10. But the Happy Horse is stronger and has more "bitter" taste. ;-)

EDIT: I heard that Red Horse is not that filtered compared to San Miguel Beer.

It tastes alright provided that it is cold. It is a potent beer very hard to drink it all night-It may be called Red Horse but it has the kick of a mule. Price is cheap

I'll give it an 8. Usually I drink "San Mig Lights".

Edit:
No wait, I'll give Red Horse a 7 and San Mig Lights an 8.
