It depends on where you live. Not all Mc donald's have the same promotions going on. I work for one in Washington state and we do not have the X-Large drinks for 99 cents. With tax they come to $2.16. Our med drinks come to $1.83 with tax. Tax rates are different all over the country.

not sure, but I am pretty sure it's over $1, but they have the super size drink (I think 44oz.) for 99cents! Go for that!
