The demmies have always had a superior plan to keep the poor, poor. It's called "subsidising poverty". Work little if any, eat meagerly & vote for us demmies to keep ya in poverty heaven!

Democrats have A plan for the poor. They attempt to create policies to 'help' them. I say help in quotes, because what they really do is take some person's money who is more wealthy and just give it to them. I dispute that as helping, because the value gained in doing the work yourself, and learning to support yourself is lost in this ideology. What you wind up with is poor people that always have their hands out expecting the Democrats to play Robin Hood for them. Conservatives have an ideology of to each his own, and earn your keep, which I think is a sound way to live.

Tell me two things Clinton ever did for the poor in this Country. That democrats care more for the poor is a pile of rubbish. Red States give more to charity than blue States, and the religious right provides more support than anyone.
Individually, liberals don't support the poor. They want the government to do it with your money.

What makes you think that the Democrats are doing anything for the poor ? In this session of Congress the only visible thing is the raising of the minimum wage which was already on the Republican's agenda. What can you name that they have done to enhance the position of the poor? The only obvious plans are to tax the rich and middle class and spend on" pork barrel "projects, which are now disguised under a fancier name.

Everybody dwells on the endless social programs that the young and poor have unlimited access to, which is such a crock.
The real problem is the continuing eroding middle class and the ridiculous tax burden that they labor under. Not just the income tax, but state taxes, grocery taxes, gasoline taxes. It never ends. When you are dealing with an ever shrinking dollar and your grocery bill is taxed 10-12% and you are making 8.00/hr, well people are starving because of it.

No one is addressing the true problem of our tax code and how it's applied.

Democrats plan for the poor is to keep them in bondage to the government, so they can never help themselves. They simply don't have a better plan.

Real conservatives create job that the poor can get. This is the real plan to help the poor.

They offer all those wonderful government programs to take care of the poor. Sure, the middle & upper class get taxed to high heaven to pay for them, but the lower class will get a bunch of free stuff.

I don't. Democrats want to raise taxes, impose new barriers to trade, and add new regulations -- all of which will reduce employment; the poor are always the first to get it in the shorts when the economy sours.

No, neither of the two major parties care anything about the poor. They pretend to, but they really only care about the interests of those who finance their campaigns...they are beholden to their benefactors, and they have forgotten that they are really supposed to be servants of the people. *sm*

Because they actually give a **** about poor people. They are giving less gigantic tax breaks to the rich, and helping communities reinvest that money in the community at-large. Education is a lot less expensive than ignorance--the Republicans' specialty....
