He wants to retire at Wrestlemania next year and didn't like the plans they had for him. The WWE didn't want to let him win over the younger talent, so he decided to stay home until they came up with an idea that wouldn't make him look bad.
They finally came up with an idea that he liked so he is doing it.
He just signed a new 3 year contract so even when he retires as a wrestler he will stay with them.
He also opened up a business so that was another reason he took time off.

had a few prolems with the WWE, he quit at one stage, but Vince talked him aroung, i really like this storyline hes in at the moment. i think it will go to wrestemania

he took a break from wrestling for a few months since they weren't really treating him right on Smackdown as far as utilizing him for anything.
