Brandon, it's a known fact that the three big networks were as liberal as a bra burning party. Enter CNN and their conservative boss, naw just kidding, he was so liberal that even H Jane Fonda left him.
What's happening in America is that people have figured out they have been brainwashed. Even the "racist' and "sexist" chants they always threw out if you sneezed are not longer valid. It's called free speech and people enjoy it now. I know you don't believe half this mobo jumbo the libs are throwing at you and the links and the polls, Heck I can come up with a poll, what jokes.
Take Dan Rather, took info and could not prove it, against a sitting president, now that's real conservative journalism. Then the big deal was Harry Reid taking up time in the senate to hammer ole pain pill Rush and the information was taken from a blog and bogus. He is like third in command and you want him to have access to hukes, not me.
now CNN is runnning "right wing conservtive talk guys like Dobbs and Beck, why because there are just not that many libs out there. ON this Yahoo it's about 30%, New York just showed 28%, Arizona again 28%. You think they are not going to be watching voting in New York. Guess again. The 70s are over.
Last night they had a program tlakng about how America wants t get back to good decent jprograming. The lady mentioned a bunch of shows and was talking about how many wold watch the dancing show. She dept getting interuped by the guy who kept saying some me an example and she kept doing it and finally the idiot shut up.
Yes they are liberal, but becasue of champions like Rush, Savage, O'rielly, Haniety, Dobbs and and many more it has changed. First it was radio as no lib ever made it on radio, the number swere never there. So money tlaks and even lib owned companies are just as greedy. Another thing Democrats are just as big business as the Republicans are and dont let them fool you. Clinton made the deals. Why a JR. senator right now and I will not mention her name brings in the top amount of lobbyist money, now how could she do that, when people been there 20 years don't come close. Makes you think.
We ae beginning to get back to the lord and good and it is about time as I didn't watch the tube for years. oN by the way no lib radio and 2nd rate lib shows. tAke care..

Your entitled to your own opinion (this is just your opinion)
Just because you hear all these stuff about conservatives on the news, that doesnt mean the media is against them. They are simply just doing their job: REPORTING THE NEWS. Also, they dont just watch a certain political group and jump all over them if there is a scandal or something and be all hush hush when their group does something bad. No. It doesnt work that way.
The media is supposed to watch the government or keep an eye on them if you will. Thats what they do and they will continue to do so regardless of which political party is in control.

The flaw in your thesis is most of those people are employees...they don't set policy. All they do is read the lines. Whatever is written is vetted by managment and managment is controled by a handful of corporate executives...not know to be particularly 'progressive' and the corporations are not exactly run by red-hot reds... particularly the 'media' outlets. For the most part corporations are controled by people that are far more inclined to be 'conservative' and even more so ruled by the 'bottom line'. In the real world, not the one advertised by the right wing talk show folks or those awful 'leftists' at the FOX Network, the media exists to sell products produced by other trans-national corporations...and there's not a 'commie' in a carload there. So, basically what you're saying is a product of propaganda designed to hide the real masters of the media. You've been fooled into believing that the most reactionary crackpots in American history are your friends while all the while they shear you like a sheep and laugh at you for supporting their near-nazi nonsense. Buy a clue, bro....you've been had!

Well if we were to look at this logically, it is likely that the people running the corporations that pay the actors are conservative, that is if they vote with their wallet.
To be perfectly honest with you, what I have learned growing up in a very liberal Northern manufacturing city is that the guys who write our blue collar checks are normally conservatives (to US this means fiscal Republicans). In my world these are the trust fund babies. It doesn't mean liberals are opposed to Christian conservatives from the bible belt, it just means we don't take too kindly to the people on top who sell out our jobs for a quick buck or rape our real estate sector with predatory lending. Liberals (as an ideology) normally oppose opposition...if that makes sense. Its just a matter of country vs. city, 2 different worlds...and politicians do a WONDERFUL job keeping us divided for the same selfish agendas on both sides of the aisle.
Liberal in the Hollywood sense is different and only accounts for a tiny portion of "liberals". Vulgarity in media sells. (and it can work on Christians too...it's called cognitive dissonance, watch vulgarity on tv, get upset, cut to the Lexus commercial, happy again, a very clever but subtle psychological advertising ploy around for ages) Hollywood is only a portion of the media. It caters to mindless entertainment...not too much to do with politics.
Seriously...The top movies combined pulled in 128 million in one year

Liberal Media….
The Liberal Media is owned by Corporations.
16 Companies own 80% of all Media
NBC MSNBC CNBC Owned by GE... Defense contractors.
ABC ESPN S Owned by Disney…. Conservative company.
CBS Owned by Viacom… Big Business
CNN HLN Owned by Time Warner… Big Business
Fox News FNC Owned by New Corp. Corporation is part of their name.
How many of these companies are owned or ran by a Liberal company?
Look who advertises on these channels especially the “news” channels. Follow the money.
- Insurance companies
- GE advertised locomotives and water desalination plants
- Big drug companies advertise products you can’t go out and by
- Big oil companies advertise their commitment to the environment.
- Who tries to by influence with the media and its watchers?
- Can the average person go out and buy ½ of the stuff on TV?
There is 9 hours of conservative talk on the radio for every 1 hour of Liberal talk.
Look at how many Religious (Christian) Channels are on the Cable and Radio channels.
Print. News Corp owns the NY Post and the Wall ST. Journal.
Do the companies that make Billions in profits each year really care about Main Street or do they care more about Wall Street.
How many of these companies are going to release negative articles about them selves or the Corporations that pay their bills?
Which political ideology are they going to keep close?
The Cons/Reps that want to keep their taxes low or the Dems/ Libs who want to raise their taxes and break up the media monopoly.
Yet Millions of Americans will blame the “Liberal Media”

The media isn't controlled so much by the hollywood actors and producers as it is the few, huge corporations that own the networks.
I don't claim that the media is controlled by christians and conservatives, but I don't claim it has a liberal agenda, either-- their primary motive is money; their agenda is not political, it is to get ratings.

Movies I'd agree with you but radio, tv, newspapers are predominately controlled by very large conservative telecommunications corporations. And the new proposed FCC regulations will make that even worse. Let's hope they are defeated.

The news media tries to pretend that they are politically UN-BIASED, the systematical non-uniform coverage is obvious to everyone, ever the leftists. Everyone has a political bias, one way or the other. when leftists say there is no bias in the news, they either are acclimated to the 50+ year bias that has existed, or they are lying because they are scared.
In 2004 Dan Rather said that CBS news reflects a Liberal bias, because, its audience is liberal and they have to gear its news towards its audience. ABC has had several memo leaks proving they are left biased, including one limiting its 2004 campain coverage to "90% positive for John Kerry and !)% positive for G W Bush. and 10% nevative for Kerry and 90% negative for Bush". CNN -Ted Turner owns it. NPR is anyone going to say they're not full on biased. NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, NPR all take the same political side, flip channels, same story told the same way.

are you saying Viacom or the other giant media conglomerates are liberal? the media are controlled by giant corporations overwhelmingly. in fact only like 6 of them. charging liberal/conservative bias misses the point entirely. giant corporations are going to go with whatever makes them the most money. they make a lot more money portraying illusions. if everyone thinks that there is a liberal/conservative bias then they are doing their jobs basically. all the serious studies on the topic reveal the corporate media are overwhlemingly pro corporate. all that other crap is pure fantasy and selective confirmation bias.

Brandon, minds are like parachutes: they only work when they're open. You've gotten a lot of good answers, and it is my hope that you will consider the points that have been made instead of sticking to a predetermined idea that may not be accurate.
I encourage you to do your own research on lots of different parts of the spectrum, then analyze what you've learned and reach your own conclusion. Don't let anyone else make up your mind for you.
