So I have tried everything! New soap, the soap in the packets, jetdry. *sigh*

What is happening is that the dishes are not getting that clean. The dishwasher leaves little pieces of crud on the dishes. Which amazes me because I always clean the dishes super well by hand before loading. And it is also leaving white (soap?) residue on my dishes. My glasses are chalky white! Can this be fixed by me (a generally non-handy-gal) or am I doomed for another? I really want to try and fix it myself, it is only 2 years old.
Thanks all!!!!!!

oops one more thing. When i put a little measuring cup with vinegar in it with the load, the dishes come out much better. I thought this might help determine the root of the problem :) ♥

You have answered your own question. Run a cup of vinegar without any soap thru an entire cycle. Also check that your dishwasher is draining properly. The air gap. (that little white cap you have on your sink) could need cleaned out. If it is plugged partially it will not empty your dishwasher out all the gunk.

sounds like you have calcium build up on the heating element, they make a dishwasher cleaner for this or what I do is run some diluted CLR (calcium, rust ,lime) remover through it a few times ... I use 3 cups and run washer through pots and pan cycle

look in the bottom of it
there might be food and junk on the drain screen
that could be recirculating when you run it
or you might need to buy the pricey soap
