I can do it with my mouth closed. But some women have a natural reflex to open their mouth.

i dont know the answer but the other day i realized that i DONT open my mouth when i put on mascara (or eyeliner for that matter) and i dont know why i dont cuz everyone else does... weeeeeeeeird!

Yes I know the answer. It is because if you don't hold your mouth just right, you are likely to poke yourself in the eye. And that burns as well as hurts.

I don't know about you, but I have to open my mouth to get my eyes opened wide enough to reach those itty bitty bottom lashes.

Well, my mouth is usually open whenever I'm concentrating...like on someone very hot...,then I start drooling,,,but that would ruin my makeup >_>

Well, you want to keep your eye wide open. I think by holding the mouth wide open it keeps us from blinking.
