Dogs, definitely! They love you and all they ask is that you love them in return. They're ecstatically happy if you just pay them some attention. They miss you when you're gone. They forgive you right away if you make a mistake.
Cats are snobby and act like you owe them something. Cats want you to worship them but dogs want to worship you.
Years ago, some fiend threw a dog out of a speeding car in a town near here. They were on the Interstate and going like 70 miles an hour. It was a miracle the dog didn't die. But both his back legs were shattered. They had to amputate the legs and made him like this little wagon to hold his back end up.
Instead of hating humans for what they did to him, he seemed so grateful that someone stopped and picked him up off the road and got him to a vet. He was the sweetest tempered little dog.
It's things like that which make me love dogs.
