Original Hughes:
- In this poem, Hughes writes about a mother speaking to her son about life's experiences. He uses the metaphor of a crystal stair.

Langston Hughes'
Mother to Son

Well, son, I'll tell you:
Life for me ain't been no crystal stair.
It's had tacks in it,
And splinters,
And boards torn up,
And places with no carpet on the floor --
Bare.
But all the time
I'se been a-climbin' on,
And reachin' landin's,
And turnin' corners,
And sometimes goin' in the dark
Where there ain't been no light.
So boy, don't you turn back.
Don't you set down on the steps
'Cause you finds it's kinder hard.
Don't you fall now --
For I'se still goin', honey,
I'se still climbin',
And life for me ain't been no crystal stair.

Ok. You need a poem from son to mother if I get you clearly.
Try this:

Son to Mother

Well, momma:
Life ain't been good for me tuuu.
It's had break necks an' no guns,
And dey blow reef through ya car,
And them send dogs t' torn yu up,
the broads, forget ya squad, betta fend for yourself
Have you screamin out four words "Send for the Law" uh
prison, prison
An' other places with no carpet on the floor --
Bare.
We've been racially profiled
Cuffed up and hosed down, pimped up and hoe down Ohhhhhh
Plus I got a whole city to hold down
From the bottom to the tops
The only place to go down.
So mama, I ain't gonna turn back.
Ain't gonna set down on the steps
Cuz on Judgment Day, you gon blame me
Look God, it's the same me
You know how the game be
I can't let em change me
Too harsh, too hungry, too many, that's why
These streets know game, can't ball, don't play
I'se tuu beenl climbin',
And life for me too ain't been crystal roses.
