I love France- born there, lived there no several occasions, speak French, etc. Whereas I don't really know Italy- only spent several hours in Turin once, nearly a decade before that city hosted the Winter Olympics. Having said that, with all due respect I think this question is a bit simplistic. And I don't know that anything good can come from asking it. I'd suggest asking people in this category about their experiences traveling to France, and asking a similar question about trips to Italy in that forum.

Italy. They're nicer. I prefer the food. The weather generally speaking, is better.
That doesn't mean I don't like France. Heck, I'm a French citizen now and have been here 11 years but if someone wants to visit one or the other, I have to be honest.
As a tourist destination, it's hard to beat Italy as a total package but France does come awfully close...

well this is a hard question....it depends on what you like.
I really loved Paris when I visited there on my first trip to France. There was so much to offer and do and see and the architecture was so ornate and pretty.
I then stayed for 2 1/2 weeks near the Lot and Dordogne area in central France....completely different with amazing little medieval towns all over the place, Rocamadour was amazing!!!!!! St Cirq lapopie was so pretty....like out of old fairy tale stories...there were other little towns all around ( Autoire was also soooo lovely)...the whole area was such a nice escape, even in the middle of summer when we visited.
Italy also has sooooo much to offer....I probably saw more of the major cities....they were so varied and the Roman history gives Italy the twist, along with the renaissance stuff, mainly in Florece. I found Italy amazing and I really loved it.....possibly more than France, but they both rate up there for me in food ( good everywhere!)....people probably are more friendly out of Paris in France and I found people in Italy fine, but there are rotton eggs everywhere to ruin it for everyone......its a hard one to decide...I guess it depends on what you are doing, who you are with and all the other things that go with travelling, but I don;t personally think you can be too disappointed with either place.

Italy.
Would go back anyday.
Every single town in Italy is gorgeous and everything looks like something you would see in a broucher of a gorgeous, roman city.
