I want to work in film (writing, directing, etc.) but I don't know what college to go to. I get good grades and I did very well on the SAT when I took it in 7th grade. I just need an idea on what school to go to. I sort of want to go to a big college and out of the midwest. Also, I am involved in many things around school. I don't think I will have much trouble getting into college I just need to know where to go. I am a freshman in high school.

You still have a long time to go, but if you are still interested in film at that time, look at the places where films are made, since it is one of those fields in which who you know matters more than what you know. That means going to Los Angeles or New York, and both UCLA (a larger school than the other options in the area) and NYU are known for their film schools.

If you're really intent on pursuing a career in film, then ideally, you want to be where the industry is. For the most part, that means New York or LA. Of course, that also means that everyone else who's interested in breaking into the business applies to programs like the ones at NYU or USC, making them very competitive. You're only a freshman, so you've got plenty of time to figure out which schools have programs you like. Just be sure to pursue extracurriculars and activities that relate to your interests to help you stand out.
