Hmm.... My favorite male lead is Jose Carreras. He has amazing versatility and range with a tonal quality that is more pleasing in my opinion than the other better-known contingent of the Three Tenors, Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo. I especially love him in Bizet's "Carmen."

My favorite leading lady is Cecilia Bartoli, a fabulous mezzo-soprano who has jaw dropping control and range. She can convey the deepest sense of emotion with her voice alone, making her stong stage presense all the more impactful. I especially love her in Orfeo ed Euridice.

(Of the two, I'd pick Cecilia Bartoli as my favorite. Then again, I'm an operatic mezzo-soprano myself)

Sorry I don't know but If I really wanted to know, I have the Internet as my resource to surf on.

Besides having highest titles can be disputed or not, It doesn't matter to me who they are.

I'm just contented with hearing opera as it comes along with me in this life.
