People who buy designer clothes don't believe they're throwing their money away, I guess. They probably think that it's worth the money.
Literally throwing money away, as in putting it in the trash, is a waste...if that's what you're asking...but splurging on nice items once in awhile doesn't hurt, especially if you can afford it.

Some people depending on their upbringing know the differnce between wants and needs. If you were poor while growing up, you are more likely to understand the value of money and not go hog wild on spending sprees. Your average middle income person will save a little, pay the bills and now and then treat themselves to something extra.Would you buy something you could care less about just to spend some money because it was burning a hole in your pocket? That is wasting money. Our basic needs come first, some people just aren't real materialistic and don't want more than they need to live comfortably. Others are wise enough to save for when they no longer can work and their retirement checks will be too small to live on.

Well when i get my pay check i put money aside for bills and for emergencies. THAN i feel OK to buy things that i want. you know when i was a kid there was a period of time that we where real tight on money because my dad was layed off from John Deere. he and my mom did not save alot due to the fact that they thought he had a set job. he did end up going back to work for them, but for a long time i held on tight to my money because that was what i was used to. Now as a adult i learned to save and than i have some extra to spend on whatever.

People dont want to waste money on stuff that isn't truly important to them. To them, that $5 or whatever is better in their bank account than spent on that burger and fries. They have other goals and priorities in life. Too many people struggle to pay their bills because they do waste their money.
Financial decisions are personal. You can call people cheap, and some actually are. But just because someone doesn't want to spend money doesn't make them cheap.

i totally agree with you that we shouldn't just save a lot of money....we shouldn't gather all the money we can and just keep it lying around.
but at the same time, i do believe that we should live simply and deny ourselves things that are not necessary......because buying unnecessary things is just as much a waste as keeping money around and never using it.
i believe ppl should use their extra money (meaning the money you don't use for life's necessities) to make the world better and help those in need. i believe that's the only time we're not wasting money.
:D

No I don't believe in throwing money away. I use it to live, eat, drink, etc. I save some for my kid's educations. And I donate to charity.
Donating to charity is much better than throwing it away...

Of course I believe in throwing money away... in fact, I do it regularly. They're called TAXES! (Esp. social security which I know I'll never see a dime of when I'm 67.)
