My husband and I are wanting to take a little vacation next spring (kids are pretty much old enough for us too and we will be together a total of 21 years then). The reason I am asking this question is because I am trying to figure out which beach would be better. We don't golf so that wouldn't be a factor. Riding horses and going to the beach would be the prefered activities but would like to know other activities that might be interesting.......we are limited money wise so we can't do a 4 star hotel and spas....just a simple hotel with simple activities would be nice.....anyone have any thoughts I would greatly appreciate them!!

Thanks.

Congrats,my wife and I are in the same way as our kids are working and on their own(somewhat) and we have been married for 24 years and now we make a trip to the beach to relax and speend time with each other.
So I would say for relaxation go to Hilton Head and enjoy your time together.

Hotels in Hilton Head are going to be more expensive than Myrtle Beach. But Myrtle Beach is also a lot more touristy and kind of dirty to me. And most hotels will have activites or can direct you to place that offer activities. In my opinion, Hilton Head is much better and not as built up as Myrtle Beach

HILTON HEAD!!! It's lovely there. It's much more relaxing and less "touristy" than Myrtle Beach. However, the Cherry Grove/North Myrtle is not as grown up as Myrtle Beach. It depends on how many "Wings" stores and hot pink sea shells you are in the mood to see. Ha.

I think Hilton Head is much classier...

Myrtle coastline by way of some distance. there's a lot to do in Myrtle you will want greater desirable than 2 holidays. you ought to spend some days on my own at Broadway on the coastline that's the state's #a million charm.
