If you could prevent either an earthquake that would kill 40,000 people, a crash at your local airport that would kill 200 people or a car crash that would kill an acquaitance of yours which would you choose? Why?

I would chose an earthquake that would kill 40,000 people. Because if more people could be saved why not? And i don't live near an airport, I live near the country, i don't have an acquaitance only friends...

i would choose to do that which i could do...it isn't likely that i could prevent a crash at the airport, as i don't fly (period) besides they take a view that anyone talking about that sort of thing around an airport is either a terrorist or a crackpot and a danger to society, so i'd wind up locked up and the crash would happen anyway.
it is not possible to prevent earthquakes, don't care who you are (if you are wearing skin, you cannot do it).
so that leaves the car crash...and i do drive, and my friends drive...so i would possibly be able to do that.

I do not see how I can prevent an earthquake.

Maybe if I were a pilot or an air traffic controller, there is a possibility I can prevent a plane crash from happening.

Definitely on the third choice is the most power given to me to control the car that if I drove irresponsibly can kill my acquaintance.

Earthquake if that is in the realm of possibility.

I would choose to prevent an earthquake because it would wipe out to many people. It would be difficult not to want to prevent the car crash because of an acquaintance, but that doesn't seem reasonable to allow 40,000 people to parish.

What does one person control? It isn't earthquakes. Mosyt people are unable to influence much control over airplanes. Most people are able to drive a bit better than they do.

If I had the power and the choice I would pick all three.

If it is me as I am, I would choose to do what I could do, and prevent the car crash.

I would like to be able to prevent earthquakes. If I could I would.

earthquake because not only does the earthquake kill 40,000 people, but it wrecks the economy trying to repair the damages and millions of people lost loved ones.

Who lives and who dies? This is an automatic catch-22, but I will go with the obvious answer and prevent the earthquake.

It's so tough to make a decision between who has to live and who has to die. But, just because there is less death, which would be hard to handle I would choose a car crash. It would be almost impossible to handle 1 death that I caused, but more than 1...I don't know what I would do.
